Three Organizations we supported this year...

Our partnership with The Bowery Mission extends for more than seven years, and their relationship with New York has been growing for more than 100 years. The Bowery’s purpose is “to minister in New York City to men, women, and children caught in the cycles of poverty, hopelessness, and dependencies of many kinds, and to see their lives transformed to hope, joy, lasting productivity, and eternal life through the power of Jesus Christ.”

Our partnership began with Brooklyn Jubilee as we started a church in Brooklyn in 2012 and, more specifically, during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Brooklyn Jubilee works to restore communities by providing access to integrated legal, health, and nutrition services for low-income Brooklyn residents through community partnerships.

Orchard Group first hired our Lead Pastor, Brian Moll, in 2005 to start a church in Manhattan. Long before Forefront, many other churches began under the influence and direction of Orchard Group; for more than fifty years Orchard has planted churches in the Northeast and, in the past five years, began targeting urban dwellings across the United States and abroad. In 2012, Jordan Rice, a member of Forefront’s East Side location, entered a residency to learn how to plant a church in the city. His desire is to create a diverse church within his neighborhood of West Harlem.

Celebration Generosity is annual event that aims to further our vision of seeing lives, neighborhoods, and our city renewed through the power of Jesus. It supports that vision in two primary ways:

1) It cultivates holistic generosity in our church community.

2) It supports organizations in our city committed to renewal.

95% of New Yorkers claim to live outside a relationship with Christ, and more than 20% live below the poverty line. We give generously because we want to bring renewal to our city by helping people find their way back to God and by serving those that are most often overlooked.

Celebration Generosity culminates with the giving of 100% of an extravagant offering (above and beyond our normal giving) to three organizations in New York that are actively seeking the peace and prosperity of the city.
