BAPTISM
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment to God. It doesn't make you a believer - it shows that you already believe.
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith... it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." - Ephesians 2:8,9
Baptism illustrates Christ's death, burial, and resurrection as well as illustrates our new life in Christ.
"Christ died for our sins... he was buried... and he rose again." - 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
"By our baptism then, we were buried with him and shared his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead... so also we may live a new life." - Romans 6:4
Baptism is, in so many ways, our first act of 'following' after deciding to 'follow Jesus.' When we are baptized we are saying to God, to Jesus, "I'm willing to do whatever it takes to become the person you originally created me to be."
BAPTISM CELEBRATION
3-4 times each year, we gather together for a Baptism Celebration. It's an opportunity for our church, family, and friends to celebrate together what God is doing in peoples' lives through baptism. Our next Baptism Course, in Spring 2012, will give more information about being baptized. If you are interested in being baptized, please email.
